Beaded Jewelry Components

Textural nuances, subtle color variations, and radiant glow are common properties to our gemstone and silver beaded jewelry. Natural gemstones give our pieces the rich, lux colors that grab the eye. Garnet, amethyst, peridot, lapis, turquoise, orange carnelian, pearls are common semi precious jewels in our bead pieces. But color is not the only asset of gemstone beading; historically, gems were sought for their metaphysical powers as well. Although gemstone spiritual attributes are not universally accepted, we believe in the metaphysical properties of our gemstone beads. We have particular faith in the power of lapis as a thought amplifier that allows for clarity and objectivity. We have equal trust in peridot as a visionary stone that conveys deep insight to your purpose and destiny. And who would not want to believe in the protection power of turquoise? Bali and Thai fine silver beads are also prominent in our jewel pieces to create texture and sparkle. Bali  and Thai silver beads differ from sterling silver beads in their higher silver content, usually consisting of 0.925 silver content.  Thai and Bali beads are created by hand through several techniques to give each bead and spacer a unique, ethnic feel. These techniques include wrapping the bead, granulation, and carving of the silver.

An additional element in the beading of our accessories is sterling silver beads. Sterling silver beads, with their more polished surfaces, enhance the jewel tones of the gem beading and provide mirrors for the colors and reflected light. These beads are more often a simple geometric shape with little textural nuance. Their bright bead surface adds a large dose of sparkle and gleam to any jewel piece.
